The Green Bag has announced its “Exemplary Legal Writing 2009″ honorees. Among those selected is our own David Post for his book, In Search of Jefferson’s Moose: Notes on the State of Cyberspace. An excerpt from David’s book will be reprinted in the Green Bag Almanac & Reader 2010, along with excerpts from the other works identified by the Green Bag‘s special Board of Advisers on good legal writing.

A post about David Post that is not written by David Post. Must be a first.

Obnoxious posters do show up here from time to time, but usually they make clear what is bothering them. Is it that you weren’t among the Green Bag honorees, or is there something else to explain your splenetic expression, and so early in the day?

The full list of nominees can be found here. My favorite is that a state judge from Ohio, Mark Painter, nominated two of his own opinions.

Thanks, y’all!! It’s a nice honor – I’ve always been a Green Bag admirer, actually, so that made it particularly nice. And I’m in pretty good company on that list, I think …
January 4, 2010, 1:31 pmAnyway, thanks for the nice comments (and even the, um, not-so-nice one …)
David

Congrats David.
I enjoyed Jefferson’s Moose, but I have to say some of the technical descriptions made me literally scream out loud. Tho to be fair I spent half a decade working at an ISP as a SysAdmin and Network Engineer, so I’m likely much more demanding than the average reader.
