Licensed carry now allowed at Colorado community colleges

New policy, just announced. More fruits of the great work of Mountain States Legal Foundation Jim Manley, with their win in Students for Concealed Carry on Campus v. Regents of the University of Colorado. Colorado is joining Utah in allowing licensed carry at all state higher education campuses. As I detailed in Connecticut Law Review article, there have never been any problems caused by the Utah policy, or by licensed carry at Colorado State University, which has been in effect since 2003.

An oft-cited justification for banning licensed carry at institutions of higher education is a policy statement issued by the International Association of College Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). A well-written monograph by Brady Allen, hosted on the website of The Collegian (the CSU campus newspaper), refutes each of the IACLEA claims
