Right Wing News asked several dozen conservative bloggers to list the “worst figures in American history.” The resulting list is quite ahistorical. Say what you want about President Obama, but it’s difficult to credit a list that would identify him as the second worst figure in American history, behind only Jimmy Carter. Professor Bainbridge rightly calls is “a joke” representing “the partisan passions of the moment, not anything resembling a serious verdict of history,” and offers an alternative list of his own. Jim Geraghty comments that the high placement of so many modern political figures “looks ridiculous.” If anything, they are being too kind.
