Oklahoma and South Carolina, it turns out, ban tattoo parlors within 1000 feet of a church, school, or playground. Oklahoma law also applies to body piercing (which excludes ear piercing). This sort of restriction isn’t uncommon for bars, but I hadn’t heard of it before for tattoo parlors and body piercing.
