Jury Acquits Public Defender in Case of Assault on Prosecutor

The Chicago Tribune has the unusual story here. The prosecutor claimed that he was assaulted by the defense counsel, while the defense counsel claimed to have acted in self-defense. From a standpoint of prosecutorial discretion, this seems like an unwise case to have brought no matter how the jury eventually ruled.
