The Volokh Conspiracy

Shatner's Tribute to George Lucas:
By far the funniest part of this bit is at the very start. (Hat tip Right Coast).

Robert Racansky:
No video of a Star Trek actor singing would be complete without the obligatory link to Leonard Nimoy's "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins."

Note: To download this (or any Google video) for off-line viewing, you can either select

(1) "Download for Windows/Mac." This will download the video as a .gvp file, which require Google's video player.

(2) "Download for Video iPod." This will download the video as an .mp4 file, which requires QuickTime 7 to play on your Windows or Macintosh computer.

More William Shatner videos:

Seven (Google video)

Elton John's "Rocket Man" (Google video)

"The wonder computer of the 1980s" (Google video)

"Get a life!" (YouTube, audio not synched properly)

"Brokeback: The Final Frontier" (YouTube)

note: In the novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Kirk addresses the rumors of a homosexual relationship between himself and Mr. Spock during their five year voyage. He said something like "Even if I was gay, don't you think I'd select a partner who's interested in sex more than once every seven years?" (paraphrased from memory).

Of course, the greatest William Shatner parody of himself is the 1998 movie Free Enterprise.

I was waiting for Shatner to say "Tamborine Man".

As the original owner, since 1968, of The Transformed Man, I found the latter portion of the video more entertaining than the first. Only William Shatner can parody himself so well, and the Imperial Chorus Line was unforgettable.
