Only for certain definitions of "singer".

If you go by the more standard definition, which includes actually having a singing voice that sounds good without the help of audio post-production software, I don't believe she qualifies.

I don't know about "concert draw", but the number one album this week is by Carrie Underwood. Number two is by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Number three is Gary Allen. All but Plant are country artists and the Plant/Krause album may be country, as is the number 8 album. Number 10 is "High School Musical".

Springstein has fallen out of the top 10. Even Kid Rock is beating him now.

Well, not really a singer but close enough for the studio tools/software to be able do their function. Of course, 100,000 other females could have done the exact same thing on those tracks, instead of Britney, and the final product would sound at least as good.
