Want Scalia to Sign Your Book?:
DC-area readers may be interested to know that next Tuesday, Justice Scalia will be talking about his new book on legal advocacy -- and signing copies of it, too. Details are available here. I understand the event is free for students, summer associates, and government employees.
Student:
The link indicates the cost is $30/person. I didn't see anything in there about a discount for students etc.

Why would government employees get in free?

Jay:
The first 18 emails the Federalist Society sent me about it didn't mention the free admission, but the most recent one did, so I think it's legit.

Oren:
Yes but he probably won't sign the 9th chapter. . .

If you're a student member select "pay at door" when you register and just provide ID and your school when you arrive at the Marriott

I didn't know summer's got in too - EV or anyone else - where is this information?

Maybe ticket sales are slow.

Can Scalia sign my Opus-Dei-issued-self-torture-device?

There is a really nasty editorial about Justice Scalia and his book in the Jun 1, 08 The Florida Bar News, probably can be accessed online on The Florida Bar's website. Very unbecoming of a lawyer to say that kind of stuff: "his attitude was the face of a book salesman...." I don't get what is with lawyers being so critical everytime a Justice writes his/her own book. I really enjoyed Justice Thomas' book. I have not yet read Justice Scalia's book.
