Just added an update to the post below — it turns out that indeed Brazil does generally fingerprint and photograph its own citizens. Makes the Brazilian judge’s shrill reaction to the American requirement that visitors from various countries (including Brazil) be fingerprinted and photographed even odder. If Brazil can do it to Brazilians, and to Americans who reside in Brazil, what’s so awful about America doing it to Brazilians who are visiting America?
