Sunday Song Lyric:

Maybe I’m just way out of touch, but I was a bit underwhelmed by this year’ Grammy nominations for “Record of the Year,” and just because one is the subject of plausible copyright infringement allegations. Of the nominees, I have a soft spot for Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. I am an old fan of Led Zeppelin, and I admire Plant’s effort to innovate musically (especially when it would be easier, and perhaps even more lucrative, to feed off of LedZep fandom and join endless reunion tours).

Interestingly enough, the song for which Plant and Krauss were nominated is an old Plant-Jimmy Page composition, “Please Read the Letter” off of their collaborative album, Raising Sand. Here are a bit of the lyrics:

Caught out running with just a little too much to hide
Maybe baby, everything’s gonna turn out fine
Please read the letter, I nailed it to your door
