Think Progress blogger Lee Fang’s obsession with the Koch brothers is really quite something. It seems there is no charge, however ridiculous, unfounded, or false, that he will not repeat — if he’s not simply making stuff up. John Hinderaker dissects the latest example. (Note that even after Fang’s post is “corrected” it is still wrong.)
Is there a legal issue here? Hinderaker refers to Fang’s post as “casual libel.” I’m not sure a libel case could be made based upon what Fang has written, though I suspect it would be a closer case than the folks at CAP would like. Given Fang’s record, I don’t think animus would be hard to prove.
