“The Life and Afterlife of Aaron Swartz”

In New York Magazine, Wesley Yang has this very interesting story on Aaron Swartz and the reaction to his death. Among the new details: Early in the case, before Swartz was indicted, prosecutors offered Swartz a plea to a single count of violating the CFAA with a three-month recommended jail sentence. Swartz turned down the offer, according to the story, in part because he felt he could not be effective in political life with a felony conviction.
