I thought I’d use the occasion of our 10th anniversary to count Westlaw citations to the blog, and it turns out that there are 790 documents in the TP-ALL database mentioning our blog or our blog posts (or, in some instances, comments to those posts). About 5% are online treatise sections, and likely about another 5% are practitioner journals; the rest are law review articles. This is up from 500 in June 2010. So if you’re asking yourself, “Is it OK to cite blog posts?,” the answer is, “All the cool kids are doing it.”
