Wisdom from Jay Leno

“It’s hard to believe President Obama’s now been in office for a year. And you know, it’s incredible. He took something that was in terrible, terrible shape and he brought it back from the brink of disaster: The Republican Party.

I’m curious veesee. Do you not mention when SNL or Daily Show or Tonight Show makes fun of Republicans and Bush because you don’t find it humorous, or because it happened so often that it wasn’t an unusual event?

    2. Borris says:

Before this thread begins let us all remember that any criticism of Obama is considered an act of “straight up” racism.

It’s the joke about Obama that’s the unusual event…Or so said the LA Times

It strikes me as a good Tonight Show joke.

Straight up, Borris, straight up. Power to the people.

Somebody on Volokh saying that criticism of Obama = racism; it must be a loony liberal…

      Oh wait, it’s a conservative. I’m shocked.

I chuckled, but it’s not enough to make me support him over Conan.

    8. Dave N. says:

As a Republican, I chuckled at it.

With respect Jay vs. Conan, I wish I could cry while taking $40 million to the bank.

As a card carrying, dues paying member of the “vast right wing conspiracy,” I sincerely believe that President Barack Obama’s election is the best thing that could have happened for conservatives in this country.

Maybe even more amazing, the President has done it by himself, with almost no effort at all from the Republicans. People still have a low opinion of Republican politicians…they just dislike Democrat politicians even more. Quite an accomplishment, considering what we had by the end of Bush’s term – toe tapping in a men’s room, gay love letters to Congressional pages, financial irregularities and the like.

      Good job. Keep it up.

Kinda restores your faith in the acumen of the average American.

(And remember, half of all Americans are even smarter.)

Don’t go complimenting them. They’re the ones who voted for Obama. :)

Conan only gets $33 million for himself, with another $12 million going to his 200 staff who recently moved to LA and are now out of a job. That is $60,000 each, so as long as they didn’t buy a house in LA at the top of the market, that is not bad for severance pay/moving expenses. (If they did buy a house, they could have lost several times that amount.)

Quoting Jay Leno? Really? Because he made an Obama joke? This place has gotten weird.

Really? Between the Sunday song lyrics, bear blogging, and Bernstein’s 100+ post campaign against Human Rights Watch, this strikes you as the the point where the blog became weird?

Fortunately, for me at least, weird is right up my alley.
